OCD

She swept the floor for the third time
and yet it didn’t reflect her smile
so she mopped and mopped yet again
but the tile did not beguile.

She counted the spoons in the sink
while doing the dishes anew
Then kept them back in their rack
then counted the vessels, quite a few

The washing machine signalled then
that the clothes were dried and clean
She opened the lid and winced though
Dubious, she added yet another spin

She washed the veggies in hot water
Sprinkling not just salt but soda too
Then dried them under the sunlight
The cleansing ritual repeated before
they were used for the next stew…
